The board approved the Minutes from the Board of Directors meeting held August 15, 2017. We also
reviewed the financial reports and proposed 2017/2018 budgets submitted by Joe Madden. We’ll vote
on the proposed budget at the October 2017 Board of Directors’ meeting.
The board voted to accept Clancy Cross, Keith Meyer, and Kay Webster as new club members – they’ll
be inducted at the next General meeting, scheduled for October 5 th , along with Amy Knowlton and Tom
Bargsley. We currently have 31 active members, with the goal of growing our membership to 46 by the
end of September 2018.
Dan will update the attendance numbers to include extra activities, such as supporting Kid’s Day in the
Park, and Avenue of Flags (AOF) involvement. Those with participation in 12 or more meetings and
events from October 1 st 2016 to September 30 th 2017 will be deemed to have “perfect attendance”.
Carl didn’t attend the meeting but we believe he’s planning another social for the last week of
September – Caddy's Tap House on September 28 th from 5:30p to 7:30p.
We had an extensive discussion on how best to address the Beavercreek Rotary involvement in our AOF
program. Numerous alternatives were suggested. Erin Henry, Mike Bevis and Dan Drago will meet with
the Rotary president to further discuss their involvement.
Mike should be wrapping up the Recruiting Contest by the end of the month.
Several club members made dinner at the Ronald McDonald House on Monday, September 18 th . We will
look to continue this support on the third Monday of every month.
The board approved a $100 donation to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Our 2017/2018 Officer Installation Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4 th from 5:30p to 7:30p
at the Wandering Griffin on Presidential Drive. All members, active and prospective along with their
spouse or significant other, are invited to attend, with each responsible for their meal.

Our next General Meeting is Thursday, September 5th, from 7:30 am to 8:30 am in The Greene
Community Room. Our next Board of Directors meeting is Tuesday, October 17 th , also in the
Greene Community Room – all are welcome to attend!
These notes are prepared as an addendum to the minutes of the Greene Optimist Club Board of
Directors (BOD) meeting of September 19 th 2017.
The club commitment to preparing dinner for the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton on a
monthly basis was not formally addressed during the BOD meeting. An informal non-
comprehensive e-mail canvas of BOD members over the past few days resulted in approval of a
$100 club funds allocation to cover groceries for dinner on Monday, October 16 th . On the
following day, Tuesday, October 17 th , we will hold our next BOD meeting, during which we
intend to ratify this allocation plus discuss and formally vote on whether to continue these
dinners on a monthly basis for the remainder of the 2017/2018 Optimist year.
I omitted the Dayton Walk to End Alzheimer's scheduled for October 7 th . Please contact Victor
